The Rise of Individualized Recovery: Why One Size Doesn't Fit All

The journey of addiction recovery is as unique and multifaceted as the individuals who embark on it. For too long, the prevailing narrative surrounding recovery has often leaned towards standardized approaches, suggesting a singular path to healing. However, a growing understanding of the complexities of addiction and the diverse needs of individuals seeking recovery has ushered in a paradigm shift: the rise of individualized recovery. This approach recognizes that "one size fits all" simply doesn't apply when it comes to overcoming the challenges of drug and alcohol dependence.

He went on to write the bestselling book,Ā 10% Happier. On this show, Dan talks with eminent meditation teachers, top scientists, and even the odd celebrity. Guests include everyone from His Holiness the Dalai Lama to BrenĆ© Brown to Karamo fromĀ Queer Eye. On some episodes, Dan ventures into the deep end of the pool, covering subjects such as enlightenment and psychedelics. On other episodes, itā€™s science-based techniques for issues such as anxiety, productivity, and relationships. Dan's approach is seemingly modest, but secretly radical: happiness is a skill you can train, just like working your bicep in the gym. Your progress may be incremental at first, but like any good investment, it compounds over time. #feelings #emotions #boundaries #happy #sad #podcast #brenebrown 00:00 Introduction to Brene Brown discussing Feelings 05:42 Mapping Emotions 09:45 Learn how to Awe 14:28 Two word check-in with partner 20:59 Shame and loneliness 31:09 Near enemy of love 35:38 How to learn what connection is with children

Marcus Aurelius - The Power of INDIFFERENCE

Marcus Aurelius Antoninus (26 April 121 ā€“ 17 March 180) was Roman emperor from 161 to 180 and a Stoic philosopher. He was a member of the Nervaā€“Antonine dynasty, the last of the rulers later known as the Five Good Emperors and the last emperor of the Pax Romana, an age of relative peace, calm, and stability for the Roman Empire lasting from 27 BC to 180 AD. He served as Roman consul in 140, 145, and 161. This information in this presentation is based on Marcus Aurelius' Meditations (Koinē Greek: Ī¤į½° Īµį¼°Ļ‚ į¼‘Ī±Ļ…Ļ„ĻŒĪ½, romanized: Ta eis heauton, lit.ā€‰''Things Unto Himself''), a series of personal writings, private notes to himself and ideas on Stoic philosophy. Marcus Aurelius wrote the 12 books of the Meditations in Koine Greek as a source for his own guidance and self-improvement. It is possible that large portions of the work were written at Sirmium, where he spent much time planning military campaigns from 170-180 C.E. Some of it was written while he was positioned at Aquincum on campaign in Pannonia, because internal notes reveal that the first book was written when he was campaigning against the Quadi on the river Granova (modern-day Hron in Slovakia) and the second book was written at Carnuntum. It is unlikely that Marcus Aurelius ever intended the writings to be published. The work has no official title, so "Meditations" is one of several titles commonly assigned to the collection. These writings take the form of quotations varying in length from one sentence to long paragraphs.
